Due to the serious serious health risks that COVID-19 poses to our community, Disability Connections staff will continue operating remotely, as needed. Please check back often for updates and know that we remain dedicated to assist you during this time of uncertainty; so, continue to reach out if you need us.

OUR RESPONSE: 

​

As we continue to closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 in our community, Disability Connections is especially cognizant of the health of our staff and the individuals for which we directly serve.

 

In addition to the thousands who are affected by the illness, we are aware that thousands more are indirectly dealing with required changes to social services, work, school, and our community environments. Disability Connections is no acceptation

and will continue to review its policies and procedures, make needed changes, and adapt to serve our community in the best way that we are able.

In response to COVID-19, Disability Connections. has made several needed changes to sanitization practices, social distancing practices, scheduling practices, and has begun offering New Virtual Services for our consumers. Consumers can access our full monthly calendar of activities on our Calendar page.

Additionally, Disability Connections has made some significant changes to when and how individuals enter the Center and make contact with staff outside the center. Please read the following sections for more information on out-of-center contacts and appointments.

OUT-OF-CENTER CONTACTS:

 

Due to the serious health risks that COVID-19 poses to our community, Disability Connections staff is unable to make home visits without prior approval and only under special circumstances. In the event that a staff member has been approved to make a home visit, staff will request:

​

  • Individual(s) to meet outside in an open air environment such as a front porch, patio, or front yard.

  • Individual(s) to maintain the standard social distancing recommendations, 6 feet or more, from staff. 

  • Individual(s) to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. 

  • Individual(s) to refrain from shaking hands or making direct contact with staff.

Disability Connections Staff Will:

​

  • Remain outside an open air environment such as in a car, on a front porch, patio, or front yard. 

  • Maintain the standard social distancing recommendations of 6 feet or more. 

  • Wear a mask at all times. 

  • Refrain from shaking hands or making direct contact with you.

APPTOINTMENTS:

​

Disability Connections is currently closed for in-person appointments. When we are able to return to in-person appointments business, Disability Connections will allow in-person appointments/visits only under special circumstances and under the following conditions:

​

  • Individual(s) entering the building wears a mask at all times. 

  • Individual(s) remain in designated areas and offices for which individual has been assigned or requested to remain during scheduled appointment.

  • Individual(s) present no current symptoms of COVID-19 and have not shown symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

  • Individual(s) have not been exposed (Directly/Indirectly) to someone known to have COVID-19 within the last 14 days. 

  • Individual(s) have not traveled via airplane within the last 14 days. 

  • Individual(s) entering building maintain standard social distancing recommendations, 6 feet or more, from staff and other individuals visiting the center. 

  • Individual(s) have completed online COVID-19 Pre-Screening and submitted for approval. Note: Screening is password protected. Please contact the staff member for which you have an appointment with for a Pre-Screening Passcode.

  • Individual(s) have taken temperature and passed under the CDC recommendation of 100.4 °F. Note: Temperatures will be taken upon entry into the center.

Due to the serious health risks that COVID-19 poses to our community, anyone not meeting this criteria will be asked to leave the center or will be denied access to center.
